It was with great pride that I commenced the role of Principal at Gosford High School in 2019. As the original high school for Gosford, Gosford High School has a long and impressive history with the local community. The school was identified as an academically selective school in the early 90s and has remained as the only completely coeducational academically selective high school on the Central Coast.
Gosford High School has a unified vision to ensure that all students have the very best of opportunities in both curricular and curriculum enrichment activities. This is realised by motivating our students through effective wellbeing programs and strong learning connections with the community, universities, business and industry in a supportive environment which is challenging and future focused.
The result of this vision is a supportive and caring learning environment that nurtures and encourages a lifelong love of learning. Our students excel not only academically but in sport, the creative and performing arts as well as in a range of cultural and social activities. As a result, our school is a fun place to learn achieved through challenge and high expectations informed by student participation and community collaboration.
I am proud of our teaching staff at Gosford High School who bring a wealth of expertise and experience in education. Many of the teaching staff are representatives on academic committees and NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) syllabus and examination committees providing our students with valuable insights and opportunities as they engage with curriculum and understanding their own learning.
Our parents are an important part of our school community and participate in school decision making and management. The P&C provides learning opportunities through fundraising, the Chapman Fund and P&C managed businesses. The hard work of the P&C enhances the quality of school life in many ways including assisting in the canteen and with band programs. Our P&C Association actively supports the school and we encourage and welcome parent and community members to attend meetings and support the school.
I am very proud to lead Gosford High School and will endeavour to ensure our students continue to be happy, challenged and engaged in learning.
