We promote an inverted pyramid of leadership which emphasises the importance of service, integrity and school pride.
We firmly believe that all young people have the potential to be leaders and that leadership can manifest in many different ways, be it through involvement in academic, sporting, cultural and community pursuits. The whole school community benefits from the promotion of student voice in planning and decision-making, while our young people are empowered to be active and engaged in making choices which affect their learning.
Students don't have to be school captains or house captains to be considered leaders. We encourage our students to be leaders in the classroom and playground, through their support for other students, or their involvement in academic, sporting, cultural or community events and projects.
The programs available to each year are:
- Year 9: ELF - Elite Leadership Force
- Year 10 - 11 - Leadership Logbook
- SRC - Student Representative Council
- House Captains
- School Captains
House System: all new students will be placed in one of the following four houses:
Kingsbury (Red and White)
Rowe (Black and White)
OSU (Brown and Gold)
Wheeler (Green and Gold)
Kingsbury, Wheeler and Rowe are named after past local dignitaries. OSU represents the Old Students Union, who used to sponsor many school events.
